Designed for ease of use, Pendulum deploys proprietary ML models to automatically process billions of newly found data points into concise summaries, resulting in valuable insights to make better decisions.

These insights enable us to track important topics, such as Antisemitic discussions or key ESG topics like DEI and LGBTQ rights, while accurately contextualizing the content with sentiment analysis and threatening language filters. Additionally, Pendulum offers risk assessments and insights about content creators, allowing users to quickly discern if these stories are driven by conspiracy theorists such as QAnon or if they are transitioning into mainstream channels. This automated ML data pipeline empowers our users to scan the horizon for close-range threats, such as those related to brand and executive reputation, to longer-range emerging threats from sanctions, climate change, or unionization that intersect with their industry and business.

As a new product experience, RiskWand's interactive tool equips customers with powerful horizon scanning capabilities to easily uncover and monitor a wide range of business and security threats. RiskWand automatically tracks the evolution of broad risk topics and the relevance to the user’s business. With a competitive advantage, users can quickly assess how other competitors or suppliers are impacted by relevant threats, all within the same view. With one click, users can gain precise insights into the threat context surrounding discussions about their brand, board, or executives, allowing them to quickly understand its implications.

BUILDING A BETTER THREAT SPACE WITH DATA VISualizatiON 

Based on initial feedback, our customers have responded enthusiastically to RiskWand, inspiring us to delve deeper into designing top-tier strategic intelligence solutions tailored to their needs. To empower our customers with the necessary tools to master their threat space, we wanted to transform the concept of an information landscape into an immersive, interactive tool akin to a physical landscape. 

A helpful analogy is to think of Pendulum and the threat topics as building blocks for creating a world, a kind of  “Minecraft for Threat”. We understood our users’ desire for customized views to organize decentralized content and highlight the most critical intelligence for their operations. Therefore, we wanted to provide them with a platform to construct and interact with a world that would suit that purpose.

Data Visualization FOR THREAT AND RISK INTELLIGENCE

Our commitment to customer-centric innovation led us to collaborate with Schema Design, a leading design firm from Seattle, to create an interactive data and information landscape. RiskWand empowers users to take complete control of their new world. They can navigate, explore, and build new experiences effortlessly, quickly adapting to the evolving threats from the landscape. 

For example, a user can begin by getting the “lay of the land” by scanning existing threats defined by the already-existing map of data and looking from a variety of “vantage points” of interest across known threat dimensions. If users discover emerging topics not being tracked, they can build a new narrative and add it to the landscape for monitoring.

Users can also define the “center of gravity” for their view to isolate different threat topics and measure its relative impact. For example, the user can place their company at the center of the view and see which threats are Direct (inner ring), Indirect (middle ring), or General (outer ring) and compare them by acuity. Also, the user can place any topic at the center so they are able to understand the broader impacts across this ecosystem of threats. The higher the peak, the higher the risk. The closer the peak, the closer the potential impact.

Alternatively, the user can shift the “gravity” to focus on a specific threat area of interest. For example, by placing Executives at the center of the world, threats are arranged accordingly, with those closest to them being “in focus”, while around them are overlapping and emerging threat vectors. This radar view helps users track the relative size and understanding of threats to their Executives in one simple screen, helping shape their focus and the direction of any further investigation to make better decisions.
